This legislation ensures that producers take responsibility for the collection, treatment, and recycling of waste electrical equipment, reducing the amount sent to landfill and minimising environmental impact. We are registered with Recolight for UK (Registration no: WEE/HG0081UW) and with WEEE Ireland for ROI (Registration no: LAM300).
Each year, the volume of WEEE generated in the UK continues to grow — and much of it still ends up in landfill, where hazardous substances can pollute soil and water, posing risks to wildlife, ecosystems, and human health. Many electrical products can be repaired or recycled, helping conserve resources and protect the environment.
To support this, Lamp Source Project Solutions offers a free, like-for-like take-back service for customers purchasing new electrical products from us. This means when you buy a new light fitting, lamp, tube, ceiling fan, or control system, you can return your old equivalent item for responsible recycling in accordance with WEEE regulations.
Electrical and electronic equipment includes any item powered by electricity or batteries. Products covered under WEEE regulations feature a crossed-out wheelie bin symbol on the product or packaging. Please do not dispose of these items with regular household waste, and never attempt electrical repairs yourself — always contact a qualified electrician.
